Katy Perry has reached out to her Christian parents after they described her as a ‘devil child’ on a tour of US churches.

The Part of Me singer has reportedly issued her parents a ‘make-or-break’ ultimatum, after the pair used the pop star’s name to promote their religious message – despite publicly criticising her lifestyle choices.

A source told Star Magazine that Katy, 28, sent her mum Mary Hudson 100 red carnations to mark American Mother’s Day, despite her and her husband Keith labeling the star a ‘devil child’ while visiting congregations as guest speakers.

The couple also asked worshippers to pray for their daughter, whose controversial debut single I Kissed A Girl topped charts worldwide in 2008.

The source said: “Their relationship has been frayed but lately it’s reached a point where Katy feels like it’s make or break.

“Yes, she’s a singer and some of her lifestyle choices may clash with her strict upbringing. But she needs her parents to know that she’s not a “devil child” and that she is a good person.”

Notably, the star tweeted earlier this month “I love my mom!” to mark American Mother’s Day.

Katy has previously spoken out about her fractured relationship with her parents. Of her marriage to Russell Brand she has said: “My mum thanks God every day for my divorce,” which Mary believes has encouraged people to attend church.

Keith was also quoted as saying he cries with despair when he attends Katy’s concerts. “I was at a concert of Katy’s where there were 20,000 [people],” he said. “I stood there weeping. They’re loving and worshipping the wrong thing.”

One of Katy’s childhood pals dished the dirt on the singer to American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“One time she changed for gym in the girl’s locker room,” said the source.

“When she took off her shirt, she had not one, but two bras on, and she said, ‘My boobs are so massive, I have to wear two bras at once’.

“She was really proud and got lots of attention from the boys, which she loved. She was such a fun person to be around, full of mischief.”

Well, well, well. Katy Perry just heard a ‘new’ song on the radio called “Hate Being Sober.” You know, that’s that song by Chief Keef where he raps all about how much he hates being sober, how he’s a smoker, and his friend Fredo is a drinker, and another friend Tadoe likes water with MDMA in it.

Katy Perry, Pitbull and Kristen Bell are among the stars who have urged fans to dig deep for the victims of the Oklahoma tornado tragedy.

A giant tornado swept through the suburbs of Oklahoma City on Monday (20May13), leaving more than 90 dead and destroying schools and neighbourhoods in a nearby city called Moore, the hardest hit.

Several stars took to Twitter.com and called on their U.S. followers to make donations to the American Red Cross, which has opened several shelters and is helping to reconnect loved ones separated in the disaster.

Perry tweeted, “Sending out prayers for the people of Oklahoma tonight. Let’s help, just text Redcross to 90999 to donate 10 dollars to those in need,” while Pitbull also told fans he had given $10 ($6.40) to the cause.

Screen stars Ricky Gervais, Ginnifer Goodwin and Kat Dennings also encouraged their Twitter followers to make donations, while Forgetting Sarah Marshall star Bell shared a link to the Oklahoma Tornado Victims Fund, which will benefit those who will now have to rebuild their communities.

Perry bought two properties — neither was listed for sale at the time — that include two houses on three adjoining lots that tip the acreage scales at about four. For LA, that’s a lot of land. Oil heiress Aileen Getty was the seller. The smaller of the homes was once owned by Springsteen drummer/Conan O’Brien band leader Max Weinberg, who bought it from Jake and Maggie’s Gyllenhaal’s now-divorced parents. It’s LA musical chairs!

Perry purchased the properties last month in a blind trust, with her manager Bernie Gudvi as the trustee. He has been the trustee on at least one other property she owns.

As for what the mistress of song intends to do with all her new space is anyone’s guess. We’re too busy trying to make sense of today’s news blaming her for for breaking up Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

Brand and Perry’s marriage was doomed from the start

Russell Brand and Katy Perry’s whirlwind fourteen month marriage ended in divorce less than a year ago. No-one was particularly surprised that the two celebs had failed to make their marriage last.

In fact, they were so poorly suited to one another that Katy Perry herself recently said that her mother “thanks God everyday for the divorce”! Not a ringing endorsement for any marriage!

Under the circumstances, it was hardly surprising that recent claims she and Brand had been smooching turned out to be wide of the mark.

I think Katy Perry and Russell Brand’s marriage was doomed from the start. Here are five reasons why:

1. Omens weren’t good before they met

Many people suspected that any marriage Russell Brand entered into wouldn’t last very long. Even his best friend, Matt Morgan, warned him of this long before he met his wife to be, Katy Perry. I know because I heard it with my own ears on his radio show!

2. Completely different values

Russell Brand makes a lot of the yoga he engages in, and his spiritual beliefs that everything in the universe is one consciousness. He even recently was purported to have been introduced to scientology by Tom Cruise. Katy Perry appeared in a music video – for ‘Part of Me’ – in which she joined the marines. These two worldviews seem impossible to reconcile!

3. Both Brand and Perry are too career-oriented

Two mega ambitious superstars together doesn’t always work out too well, if only because they don’t have enough free time to devote to one another. While Hollywood stars always seem to end up with one another, often a steadying influence can be useful to keeping things on an even keel. With the combination of Russell Brand’s combustible tendencies, and Katy Perry’s seeming desire throughout her court controversy, that steadying influence was rather absent from their marriage.

4. Too much ego

Many people were surprised when Greg Norman, the ex-world number one golfer, and Chris Evert, the former world number one tennis player, tied the knot. No-one was surprised when Evert apparently resented the backseat she was taken in terms of attention, and ended it after a mere fifteen months. This was almost exactly the same length of marriage as Russell Brand and Katy Perry, and one wonders whether two superstar egos is rather too much for one relationship.

5. Russell Brand – the incorrigible womaniser

Russell Brand is ideal for the world of showbusiness; he loves being the centre of attention, and he’s not bothered about doing completely stupid things as long as they’re funny. But above all else, he’s an incorrigible womaniser and flirt. It’s a fundamental part of his personality and persona to appear on television shows and basically try it on with presenters, guests, and any other eligible women that appear on his radar. It was virtually his entire stage persona before Katy Perry came along, and he has instantly reverted to it since their divorce. Is it possible for him to ever truly settle down? I doubt it, but time will tell. He’s already trying to set up a foursome with the Kardashians, so the omens aren’t the best!

Relationships are tricky—even among the A-list crowd!

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson broke up Saturday, and a source tells E! News that Katy Perry “played a role, as one of many reasons” in the couple’s recent split.

Katy, Rob and Kristen have been friends for a long time. In fact, the “Wide Awake” singer was expected to attend Rob’s 27th birthday party last Monday night at Kristen’s house. And just a week before that, Rob and Katy were spotted leaving the Met Gala in NYC together.

Another source tells E!, however, that “Katy is friends with both Rob and Kristen,” adding, “To bring Katy into this is just complete nonsense.”

Either way, don’t point too many fingers K.P.’s way. Kristen’s cheating scandal with director Rupert Sanders reportedly played into her and Rob’s recent breakup, although a source says the Twilight hunk had gotten over it with time.

That said, R.Pattz was spotted Monday moving out of Kristen’s home in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, Katy’s been vacationing with friends in the Bahamas.

Bathing beauty Katy Perry proved to be quiet the man magnet during a Caribbean break over the weekend.

The curvacious 28-year-old was surrounded by men as she floated around a hotel pool in an inflatable ring on Saturday.

She soaked up the sun – and all the attention – as she relaxed back in the floaty.

The singer looked great in a printed bikini featuring top which noticeably enhanced her cleavage.

She wore her brunette locks up in a sleek bun and covered her eyes in trademark Wayfarer-style sunglasses.

At one point the swimwear appeared to be giving her a spot of trouble as she relaxed at the Atlantis Resort & Casino’s Lazy River, in the Bahamas.

She could be seen checking her ample bust was safely in place as she looked down and adjusted her straps.

Katy – who is currently single after parting ways with John Mayer in April – enjoyed the company of several men but it seems none of them were potential love interests.

She told Twitter followers about her low-key vacation to celebrate a pal’s birthday: “And just an FYI, I made grilled cheese’s in my juicy couture for all the kids when they came from the gay clerb tonight! #momshome.”

Katy proved she wasn’t making the most of her bachelorette status by also spending the evening brushing up on her slang terms.

She posted a screen grab of her searching “What does gully mean” in reference to the term which is more commonly associated with being “gangsta” across the United States, but can vary in meaning in the West Indies.

Eventually the star called it a night after her hectic schedule left her drained.

“Fine, ill go to bed. Jet lag has won again! Meow”, she tweeted.

She deserves a break after performing on stage with the Rolling Stones, and attending the Met Gala as well as various other events this month.

Since Katy Perry and John Mayer broke up, Katy Perry has been linked to Gerard Butler and Robert Pattinson.

Katy Perry, 28, and Gerard Butler, 43, were spotted flirting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

“They were really flirty all night,” a source said.

“It started at dinner. Gerard was there with Piers Morgan and Katy kept drifting to their table. Everyone was mingling at first so no one took much notice, it wasn’t until the Vanity Fair after-party that they really stood out.”

“They ended up sitting on the upstairs terrace talking and laughing. Katy definitely looked happy,” the source continued. “They left separately, but that didn’t stop people from talking. The chemistry was intense!”

The pair was previously reported to be dating in March 2012 after Perry split from Russell Brand.

“Gerard’s always had a soft spot for her. As soon as he heard about her split from Russell Brand he got in touch,” a source said at the time.

Perry has also been spotted with her friend Robert Pattinson, and rumor has it he’s crushing on her.

“Katy was Kristen’s friend first, but she gets on with Rob brilliantly. It’s clear to everyone that Rob’s got a bit of a crush on Katy and she totally plays up to it,” a source said.

“Rob’s a huge admirer of Katy and she was really there for him when things went wrong last year,” another source said.

The source said Perry has caused problems in Pattinson’s relationship with Kristen Stewart.

“Kristen loves Katy, but she’s also quite intimidated by her. Katy’s so carefree, fun-loving and girly, Kristen feels the total opposite, and seeing how Katy connects with Rob worries her, especially as he’s been so distant recently.”
